What I had for dinner last night...

The above picture proves that I sometimes eat like  like a regular person....pierogies, onions, sour cream, smoked polish sausage and sauerkraut for dinner last night.  And I must say it was delish!  Eating is all about balance and so this morning for my breakfast I had.....

an energizing green drink made with spinach, parsley, ginger root, pineapple, orange and a healthy spoonful of hemp hearts and some pro-biotic powder for gut-health.  For a little extra sweetness I could have added a small banana as well but I don't mind the less-sweet  taste of the greens.  It's a good way to start the day and a good way to get in some of your 5 to 10 a day!  The best part about green drinks - you can customize them to suit your taste.

Lots of stuff going on in my life right now, but I'm going to try and find time to blog more than I have recently.  I have no shortage of things I'd like to share with you!

    1. If you are in Canada you can find them at Costco, Bulk Barn, health food stores, and most major grocery stores that have an organic/natural food section. Finding them in the US can be difficult because they have to be grown in Canada and shipped due to it not being legal to grow them in the US. You can buy them online at https://store.nutiva.com/hempseed/ which is a company based in California. Hemp hearts (hulled hemp seeds) should not be confused with cannabis seed!

  3. It is nice to know that you do sometimes indulge yourself! Your meal looks fabulous. I love pierogi as you know. Did you make these yourself? Normally I would just have the pierogi with some fried onions and sour cream, and then I would enjoy the smoked sausage at another time along with the sauerkraut and buttery mashed potatoes. I have never tried these three together.

As for the green shake. I used to regularly make myself a drink using fresh watercress, carrot juice, lemon juice and apple. It was fabulous. Really delish. I hate bananas in any drink at all. I don't find the texture they give appealing at all. Would love to see more of what you eat when you are being naughty! But then I am just a naughty eater anyways!
